FAQs

The simple answer is that we are more than just a moving company. We are Senior Move Managers. This implies that we not only take care of all the practical aspects of the move but also organize the physical transportation. In summary, we are the sole point of contact for all your senior moving requirements. We will assist in planning your move and overseeing any additional services you may require, such as packing, donating, decluttering, and developing a floor plan for your new residence. Our team will provide guidance for the challenging decisions regarding any relocation.

Most likely, the answer is yes. Journey Senior Move Managers is a network of licensed and insured vendor partners that includes local and long-distance movers, labor-only services, and removal of unwanted items. It is important to note that we are not movers; instead, we are move managers. The state of Oregon issues our license, and we operate in the Greater Portland area, extending as far as Eugene, the Oregon Coast, and Vancouver. Furthermore, we are affiliated with the National Specialty and Senior Managed Moves Association (NASMM). Through this organization, we utilize zip codes to assist anyone relocating to or from another state, providing a registered NASMM member.

Journey does not charge on an hourly basis. We recognize the significance of budgets. Therefore, we have created analytical tools to determine prices for various moving scenarios. Our consultations are complimentary, and at the conclusion of the consultation, we provide a price for our services.

In order to begin the services, a deposit of $500.00 must be provided upon signing the Contract.  The remaining amount is then paid once the move day is complete. We accept payment via check or credit card at the location.

The members of our Consultation Team are passionate experts who specialize in aiding with both the emotional and physical aspects of relocation. These individuals are deeply dedicated to forming connections with older adults, carrying out meaningful work, and providing assistance during significant life transitions.

Move Management is a relatively new industry in the service sector. Several factors demonstrate the significance of Move Management being a cost-effective, valuable, and necessary service. The aging of the U.S. population is one of these factors. Furthermore, families today are more scattered across different locations than ever before. In addition, Americans have been residing in larger homes over the past few decades, and now, when the time to move comes, most older adults prefer to have less space. Therefore, they need assistance in downsizing and often don't know where to start.

Our tagline is: "You choose the path - we guide the journey." Not everyone requires the same service. We have developed analytical tools to establish prices that suit different moving situations. This can involve sorting and arranging your possessions to determine what should be kept, discarded, or donated. You might need assistance managing the moving process on the day of your move, or maybe you have items that need to be delivered to a loved one. Give us a call, and we will ensure they reach their destination.
